India Expected Playing XI - T20s vs England

Here is the predicted playing XI of the Indian Cricket Team for the T20 matches against England, with explanations for selection.

  1. Rohit Sharma (vc)

  2. KL Rahul

  3. Virat Kohli (c)

  4. Shreyas Iyer

  5. Surya Kumar Yadav

  6. Rishabh Pant (wk)

  7. Hardik Pandya

  8. Deepak Chahar

  9. Varun Chakravarthy

  10. T. Natarajan

  11. Yuzvendra Chahal

There are two new international caps introduced in this predictive squad, first being Surya Kumar Yadav, and second Varun Chakravarthy. Their immensely impressive performance in IPL 2020 and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy certifies their entry in the National Team. Varun Chakravarthy has impressed the selecters with his terrific bowling and getting out Dhoni twice in a single IPL season. Suryakumar Yadav has performed consistently well for every team he has played in the last few seasons of IPL, be it Kolkata Knight Riders or Mumbai Indians. Thus he is suitable to be placed in the Indian middle order to stabilize the team batting.

Rohit Sharma, along with KL Rahul will give India the perfect T20 start. KL Rahul has proved himself at various moments batting at almost every number in the team. Thus keeping him out of the squad doesn't seem to be wise, keeping in view his majestic technique and skill. Shikhar Dhawan doesn't seem to be in form, looking at his performance in the last couple of years, and there are lot of alternatives available who are waiting for their turn. Therefore his place cannot be confirmed in the T20 squad.

The middle order of the Indian Team is blessed with one of the best batsman of all time- Virat Kohli, who will be assisted by young and experienced Shreyas Iyer. Shreyas, being the current captain of Delhi Capitals, has shown his amazing batting skills as well as his captaincy experience. Thus he'll be great to bat with Virat Kohli preceding him. Then there comes Rishabh Pant, the god-like batsman. The way he batted in the test series in Australia, as well as versus England, has certified his game. He along with Hardik Pandya will have to play the role of finisher. Rishabh Pant is also equipped with the wicket-keeper's responsibility, and he has shown great keeping expertise in the past few months.

Then lastly, India also has one of the best bowling line-up - Young and Experienced. With Deepak Chahar as the bowling pillar, he'll be assisted by Natarajan, who is known for his deathly yorkers, especially in the death overs. Swing bowling art is mastered by Deepak Chahar, who'll also be followed by Hardik Pandya in the middle overs, if required. Then the most experienced and intelligent bowler- Yuzvendra Chahal is there to trap the batsman in his spin web in the middle overs. It has always been a challenge for the batsmen to read and play Yuzi. His constant variations put the batsmen in great trouble.

Thus, with six world-class batsmen, two young all-rounders and three deathly bowlers, India is all set to ruin English Team intents in this T20 series commencing from the 12th of March 2020.
